OVERALL PERSONALITY:
[li]untrusting/guarded – When you’re shy, you really are afraid to let anyone in for fear of being made fun of or something. That’s basically Giselle in a nutshell. She isn’t going to just tell you what she’s feeling or what’s going on. To get her to trust you, you have to talk to her and try and show her you’re not out to ruin her. The only person Giselle has told everything to is her brother, and probably the only way to have a chance at a relationship like that with her is to be one of her childhood friends or extremely kind. She sees it as if you're nice enough for long enough, then you have to be a good person. Is that necessarily true? No, but it’s better than not being open with anyone. Either way, to get her to open up to you, you better be patient.
[/li][li]caring – Even though the girl is hesitant in front of people, she is caring towards almost everyone. Elle doesn’t believe anyone should be ignored or mistreated, though she wouldn't stand up for herself in her household. Everyone deserves to be loved, in her opinion, and it shouldn’t be any other way. People are all equal, and being treated otherwise isn’t right unless it has been warranted by certain behavior. People who are criminals that have murdered people, beaten people, and other such crimes don’t deserve the type of caring and kindness others do. To her, this even applies to animals, though many do not see them as humans or equals.
[/li][li]wary – The girl is quite unsure when it comes to stuff involving new things. If someone wants her to go to a party or even hang out somewhere with them, Izzy will think more than twice about it. She‘ll think out the whole scenario in all it‘s ways. What could happen, what the consequences could be, what could go wrong; it’s the first thing on her mind. She’s afraid of embarrassing herself because people won’t forget, and then it’ll spread around, or so she believes. The girl thinks people will then laugh at her and think she’s so weird. A bad reputation is something she’s staying away from.
[/li][li]smart – She has always been an exceptional student in school. Though her troubles at home were well under effect as a child, she paid attention in class and had a great memory. Her report card always reflected this, and still does, stating she was getting straight A’s. Elle has never failed a class due to lack of smarts, not even a test. Even out of school, she's a smart person. She uses logic almost all the time to figure out situations or help people out.
[/li][li]pessimistic – Giselle just doesn’t think most things will turn out well. She expects the worst in all situations, and doesn’t get her hopes up. It is just how she’s come to be, and most people have come to expect it out of her. She is optimistic in some situations, but just mainly pessimistic. She’s pretty bad though, and she thinks everything will end in the worst possible way. It usually doesn’t happen though.
[/li][li]nice – This girl is one of the nicest people you‘ll ever meet. Izzy is a very kind and considerate person. No one will ever get an attitude from her unless they’ve done something to her and she knows them. Strangers are given the utmost respect, as are others she encounters. People are just all equal, and she tries to exhibit that idea as much as possible. If others aren’t nice to her , she might say something, but most times the girl stays quiet if it's around new people.
[/li][li]loyal - Elle is extremely loyal to the people she likes. The few friends she has are treated better than many people treat their friends. Her brother is really her only family, and he is treated like her everything, coming before all. She‘s never had a boyfriend, but she would not cheat, nor would she treat them unjustly. Sometimes her ways lead to her getting taken advantage of when it comes to hanging out with people, but she has yet to change.
[/li][li]animal lover – Izzy is very much a lover of animals. She is vegetarian and doesn’t use products that have been tested on animals. The girl owns a cat, but hopes to get more animals because she can’t stand to watch a poor animal suffer in a shelter. Sometimes you can find her nursing a homeless animal back to health before finding a suitable home for it somehow.
[/li][li]musical – Since she was little, music has always been important to the girl. Singing is one of the things that helps her calm down. Writing music is another hobby, and she is always listening to it. Izzy has been to a good amount of shows, many for bands most people haven’t heard of. She prefers to listen to that music, as they tend not to be sellouts. Bands that sell out make her mad.
[/li][li]OCD - Yes, she has OCD. It isn't very bad though. Small things upset her, and she can usually calm herself down when she has an 'episode'. They aren't crazy though, so you can barely call them episodes. Really just like a bother that she gets a little worked up about. The things that bother her the most are usually where certain things are and if she’s on time. If she says she’s going to be somewhere at a certain time, expect her there, at most, five minutes later than that time. And her room is set up a certain way, her bed in the spot she needs it and other small things in their ‘right’ spots.
[/li][li]shy/outgoing - Izzy is usually very shy. When she first meets you, it’s more likely she won’t talk, and it will take a good deal of time for her to get used to you. Once she gets used to you though, she will act weird and random. You’ll always have a smile on your face with her. The girl also likes to have serious conversations, bringing up serious issues in the world.

OVERALL HISTORY:
On one warm January day in France, a baby girl was conceived. Yes, conceived. Weird way to start, right? Anyway, it wasn’t exactly wonderful. A mother was taking a short walk with her son, whom was only a year old. They lived in an apartment nearby because the woman’s husband had recently died. The cause was unknown, so they left it at that. She didn’t want to get herself all worked up if the cause was avoidable. While walking past a wooded section of the park, little Sebastian started to fuss. Smiling, the woman stopped and walked to the front of the stroller, where she began to fix his blanket and clothing and such. That was when Adrienne was grabbed from behind and pulled into the woods. The man then raped her, and she never even got a decent look at him. Basically, fear took over and she shut her eyes. Not smart, but her actions nonetheless. Once he was finished, he ran off and left her lying there. Before long, the cries of her son were heard, which prompted Adrienne to quickly pull herself together and rush to him. Maybe he was hurt. Maybe then man was strangling him right now. It turned out that the baby was fine, so they went home and never spoke of the incident. How did she tell her parents about the pregnancy? Well, her and her deceased husband had frozen fertilized eggs in case of any issues. They had wanted a big family.
A few months later, Adrienne was at work, a hospital, taking care of a patient who had needed an operation. It was love at first sight, really. What was even better was that he didn’t care that she was pregnant. The woman just didn’t know he was the one who got her pregnant against her will. Marc Beauvais, which was what his name turned out to be, had planned on being in a relationship with her. He hadn’t expected it to work out this perfect, but it worked for him. Even after he was released from the hospital, the two kept in touch and spent much time with each other. Within two months, they were planning a wedding. Her parents didn’t approve much, but neither paid attention. They were in love, right? The day before their wedding day, Adrienne was told she was due any day. So the couple just didn’t plan a honeymoon. They could deal with that. Besides, Adrienne had already had one. It hadn’t been that spectacular, or so she told herself. It was ultimately for the best though, because three days later, the baby was born.
On October 31, Giselle Antoinette Beauvais was born. Adrienne resented the girl from that point on because she was the result of a traumatic event. Did she show it? Not really. It wasn’t as if the two were together all the time though, because her son loved the girl. They were close even as toddlers, and the small age difference helped a lot. While they were playing, their mother could be on the phone or something that didn’t involve them. Over time, Adrienne simply became disinterested in her kids. Especially since Giselle was becoming more and more unlike her. Her hair was dark, and she had brown eyes. This little girl had blonde hair and grayish-blue eyes. And it still hadn’t occurred to her that the girl looked more like her husband now than anyone. Adrienne wasn’t the smartest though. After all, she had been the one taking her young son for a walk in January. Does that sound very smart? Not really. The woman also left two year old Giselle in the bathtub while she went and took a nap. The girl would have drowned if her brother hadn’t started screaming. Of course, the kids were bribed so they didn’t tell their father. He never knew.
Nothing really happened in the house until Giselle was about seven. That was when her father started drinking heavily, and he began to hit his daughter and his wife. Not his son though. His son was perfect, a strong and smart boy. Yes, Marc was one of those guys who felt women were worthless. So, Giselle would go to school with cuts and bruises on her, but no one would ask because no one would see. Her mother had made it a priority to cover up the spots. It didn’t help at all, but it kept people away. Besides, the new treatment had caused Giselle to withdraw from people and lose most of the friends she had. In a matter of weeks, the girl had lost all interest in talking to people and socializing. By junior high, it ruined her completely. Her sense of style changed, and it differed from everyone else’s. Sure, her brother was the same way, but he talked to people. People accepted him because they knew the real him and knew he was cool. Giselle was afraid to talk to people. No one ever tried to get to know her.
Their move to the US was very hard on Giselle. She was only eleven, and still shy as ever. In her new school, kids mocked her because she had a french accent and her English wasn't perfect. She loved it, but no one else did. It made her mad. Her whole family had an accent, and she was the only one who got ridiculed for it. Around then was when she started to think about cutting. Yes, that young. Fortunately, Giselle never tried it. She decided against it because it might call attention to herself. That would be very very bad.
The teenager was fifteen when the beatings started picking up more. Adrienne had finally left because she realized the man she married was the one who raped her, and she wanted nothing to do with the children. This made Marc angry, so he took it out on his daughter. Never his son though. Sebastian couldn’t take it this time though. He loved his sister too much to let her deal with that. So he began to interfere, pulling his sister away from the madman. This became a regular thing, happening almost every day. Sebastian had his hands full, juggling school, a social life and all this. It didn’t last like this. Pretty soon, it happened only a few days, making things a lot easier. It was still hard though. Giselle had to deal with her father’s beatings on top of everything else. Her OCD didn’t help much, her low self-esteem didn’t, and her extreme sense of self consciousness just made it all too difficult. She was having difficulties just going to school each day. Her grades started slipping. The straight-a student came to be a straight-f student in no time at all. Someone knew there had to be an issue, so the school sent someone to the house.
They arrived on the best day for them, really. They rang the doorbell and heard a crash, like glass breaking. Maybe it was just a bad time, they figured. A man screamed for someone to answer the door, and a few moments later, Giselle answered, crying and tending to a gash on her forearm. It was bleeding quite heavily to be just a small cut, so they instantly told her they were taking her to the emergency room. It was there that they discovered various other bruises and cuts on her body. It took no time at all to decide that she was to be sent away to live with other family while her father had to deal with the judicial system. Since her brother was underage as well, he was sent to the same place.
That happened a year ago, and since then, Izzy has gotten a bit better with people, but she's still hesitant.

WON'T CRY FOR MY SOLITUDE
LAY MY HEAD AND DREAM OF YOU
ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:
ignoring what we've felt,
overlooking what we've done,
what do you say?
Honestly, Giselle didn’t need this girl yelling at her about something as trivial as a goddamn shirt size. It was seriously something that didn’t matter. They even had the next size up. Sure, people liked buying shirts that fit them, but one size wasn’t a huge difference. If the girl was handy, she could hem the shirt. Of course not though. She thought she was better than some girl selling merch. But, obviously, she wasn’t. Because, all in all, Elle was a lot farther than the girl. She was the one who was actually friends with the people in the band, and she actually followed them on tour. This little girl, probably fifteen, was probably obsessed with the band, and spoke to her friends about wanting to rape the members. Izzy had seen people say things like that everywhere. A lot of the time she saw it on bands’ MySpace pictures. MySpace kids made her sick. Honestly, ninety percent of them were whores who just wanted attention. Giselle had a MySpace, yes, but she wasn’t the one who went around and added everyone and took half naked pictures of herself. The blonde was damn sure no one would ever see that much of her. Well, no one she wasn’t close with. The only person that had seen a lot of her skin was her brother, and she’d been wearing a tank top and shorts. They hadn’t even been that skimpy either. Giselle just didn’t like a lot of skin showing because it made her feel too exposed. Call her weird, but she just wasn’t like every other girl.
This girl went on a little more, telling her how this was her job and she should have the shirts in stock. The more the girl yelled, the more Giselle just wanted to cry. She honestly felt like she could pass out for days and just sleep. Exhaustion was just a recurring thing with her now, and it ruined her days. Maybe something would happen that’d make her truly happy and lift her out of this bad mood. It really was just terrible. Dwelling on the past wasn’t healthy, especially with the things that happened. No one wanted to replay a scene where they got beaten over and over in their mind. It just wasn’t right, and it was saddening. Jesus, maybe she needed to vent to someone. Maybe all the years of bottling it up had caught up with her. But who was there to vent to? She could vent to Harper, but she wasn’t sure he cared. They were friends, but they weren’t best friends or anything. And no one ever seemed to really listen to what she was saying. And as these thoughts ran though her mind, someone came over to the merch table. As always, the butterflies in her stomach woke up. Her mood slightly lifted, though she was still a little pissed at the girl bitching. Apparently, Harper didn’t like it either.
His interjecting made Giselle so happy. She was honestly getting so mad at this girl, and if he didn’t do that, she could have done something a bit drastic, especially for her. Nothing physical, like slapping, but more along the lines of an extreme insult. Just because she rarely said anything mean or just rarely spoke in general didn’t mean she didn’t know any comebacks or insults. She had quite a few in her mind, they were just never used. The things the boy said made her want to hug him. She would have, but he was talking to the kid, and it would have been weird for her. She didn’t just randomly hug people. It wasn’t normal, and he would obviously find it out of the ordinary. After all, they’d been friends for years. Really, Izzy couldn’t think of a time she hadn’t known him. Well, she could, but not a time that really stuck out of her mind. Everything good that happened with friends happened in the US, and that was when she had known him. He had been in her fifth grade class. No, teasing wasn’t cool, but it had eventually led to their friendship. It was one Giselle treasured, even though they weren’t besties. You didn’t need to be someone’s best friend to have a good relationship. If they could be more than friends though, it’d probably make her the happiest eighteen year old ever. This depression thing would be a thing of the past. That wasn’t going to happen though.
The girl smiled and listened to Harper before nodding and walking away and feeling satisfied. Apparently him answering with the same information made it so much better. Giselle rolled her eyes and turned her attention fully to Harper. No one else wanted to buy anything at the moment, so it was good. He smiled at her, and she just couldn’t help but smile back. It wasn’t one of her fake ones either. “Hey. Thanks for that, she was really pissing me off.” Elle really was glad he said that. It kind of boosted her self-esteem a bit too. It made it more obvious to her that she had friends that cared. Him caring just made things a lot better for her. It was a step closer to him actually liking her back, though he probably didn’t. He was a rockstar, she was a girl selling merch. He sat on the table, and seemingly out of nowhere, he kissed her cheek. It made her blush, her face turning a light pink color. What he said didn’t make sense, but then she realized what he meant. Her shirt. “Hm. Well, that means you have lived. I mean, there’s nothing more exciting than kissing a vegetarian.” That was obviously a joke, because, did it really matter what someone’s eating habits were when it came to kissing? Izzy didn’t think so. “I’ve been pretty good, how about you?” She was sure he’d been fine. I mean, he was in a famous band that loads of people liked. It didn’t get much better than that.
